Obituary: Mrs. Mary Zuber nee Miller died, at the residence of her daughter in Napoleon, O., March 3rd, 1893, aged 86 years, 4 months and 19 days. She was born in Lebanon county, Pa. She was united in marriage to Emanuel Zuber nearly seventy years ago. Eight children were the fruits of this union, two boys and six girls; one boy died in infancy, and the other one lived to the age of manhood and in the hour of his country's peril, be offered himself a willing sacrifice, and was taken a prisoner, and died in a rebel prison. Four girls fell victims to the fell destroyer consumption. Two daughters, fifteen grand children and a number of great-grandchildren are left in the world to mourn their loss, but not as those who have no hope. She survived her husband about thirty-three years. They immigrated from Pennsylvania to Ohio in the year 1837, and lived for a few years in Seneca county. In the year 1848, they came to the wilds of Henry county where she has lived ever since. She was a good neighbor and always ready to do kindness to those about her. In her family relations she was a most self-sacrificing mother; in troubles that would have appalled the stoutest heart, she never a moment lost her faith in the goodness and mercy of her God. She was converted and united with the Christian Church at the early age of fourteen years, and has lived a consistent christian life until the hour of her departure from this world. In her last moments she suffered intensely and felt the need of the soothing power of prayer. A good brother, one of her old class mates was sent for, and as be began to pray her suffering seemed to cease, and as he finished his supplication for her, she passed peacefully away from earth to her home in Heaven. She was a member of the T. B. Church for over forty yearsShe was one of the charter members of the Pleasant class in Harrison township, the first christian organization in the township. Her funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. T. D. Ingle at the M. E. Church, near her old home. It was just thirty-three years to the day that her husband was buried, her remains were laid by his side in the cemetery at the old brick church near Shunk. Peace to her slumbering dust. M. F.
