Obituary:

Jacob Wolff was born at Lancaster, Falrfield Co., O., April 4th, 1836Soon after his parents moved to Findlay, O., where he was brought on the homestead farm till about 30 years ago he came to this vicinity and located on the premises adjoining the town school house, where he has been all these years in improving a fine farm home. After preparing buildings he was united in marriage with Miss Malinda Hitt.Their pleasant home was enjoyed for over a decade of years, and two bright boys added materially to the joys of home, but soon after the birth of the second, afflictions set in and the companion of his early youth was taken away by the unfriendly hand of death. After a lapse of time his family home was again restored by his uniting in marriage with his now bereft and sorrowing widow. Since their union a son and daughter were added to their number, and their home was made healthy and pleasant till within the last two weeks afflictions again returned and bereavement rapidly followed, after the most excruciating pain and suffering from erysipelas, etc., for about ten days, on Sunday evening death came to release the father and husband from his extreme suffering. Thus ended on November 30th, 1892, an active life of fifty-six years, seven months and sixteen days. He was raised as a Methodist and died the same. His funeral services were conducted in the Hamler M. E. Church, by Rev. A. C. Thomas, of Findlay, Ohio, after which his remains were carried to the Ridge cemetery to their final resting place. Friends, brothers, child companions echo the sentiment of the stanza:

These ashes, too this silent dust,
God's watchful eye shall keep.
Till the last angel rise and break
The long and dreary sleep.
