Obituary:

Death of Mrs. John Wilson After years of suffering death came to the relief of Mrs. John Wilson on Thursday last. Aunty Wilson, as she was known by everybody, was an old resident of this part of the State, and was much beloved and respected, as her life was replete with acts of goodness. She lived to a ripe old age and for months had been patiently waiting for the summons to take her from this place of pain and tribulation to her eternal rest. Her funeral took place on Sabbath last, the body being taken to Turkeyfoot for burial. The following brief obituary was read by Rev. Donahey upon the sad occasion:

'Ann Agnes Ried Wilson was born in Kirkmichel Parrish, Ayershire, Scotland, on February 25th, 1810. She was married to Mr. James Cressam in 1840, and after three years residence in Scotland emigrated to America in 1843 with her husband and infant daughter. Mr. Cressam died in 1846, and she was united in marriage to Mr. John Wilson on Sept. 2d, 1847. She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Scotland, and was a member beloved in the Napoleon Presbyterian Church at the time of her death. Mrs. Wilson had resided in this part of the State for 47 years and has been a citizen of Napoleon for 33 years. She leaves a husband, one daughter and eight grand children to mourn her departure. Mrs. Wilson died on Thursday, Sept. 11th, 1890, aged 80 years, 6 months and 16 days. Death came not as a thief in the night to this mother. Her disease left at best little hope of recovery. She committed all into the hands of her heavenly father, and patiently and hopefully waited for her change. She was an humble child of God. The last care that seemed to trouble her was that she might not show a spirit of impatience in her affliction; she prayed that she might meekly wait and murmur not. Mrs. Wilson was always a great reader, a woman of good memory, and this she retained to the last. She was a kind mother, a faithful wife; good neighbor, a true friend, a cheerful Christian. Mark the perfect man and behold the upright, for the end of that man is peace.'
