His eight-year-old boy had unhitched a horse from the plow about 6 o'clock Saturday evening and started to ride him to the barn. From some cause the horse became frightened and jumped to one side and started to run. The boy fell and in doing so canght in the tugs and harness. The result was that he was knocked from one side to the other, now under the horses heels, then against any projection that might be in the way. Although the horse ran but a short distance when picked up the young victim was found to be fatally hurt. A hole was kicked in the back of his head, his collar bone and several ribs broken, while his whole body was fearfully bruised.A doctor was summoned from New Bavaria but to no avail, the boy dying Saturday evening about 9 o'clock, three hours after the accident. |
