Another Pioneer Gone
Wilford -- On the 14th day of November, 1876, Mr. Campbell D. Wilford, aged 70 years and 2 months.
The deceased settled in Harrison township, Henry County, Ohio, in 1850, when that part of the county was an almost unbroken wilderness. He spend 26 years on the same farm, and lived to see the forest disappear and fine dwellings and fields of grain occupy the place where once he delighted to chase the deer and bear, many of which were captured by his unerring skill.
As a neighbor, he was kind and peaceable, and ever ready to administer to the wants of the destitute, or give words of comfort to those in distress.
By his life of undoubted integrity and perseverence in the path which he recognized as the path of duty, he won the hearts and good wishes of all who knew him, and was believed by all to be a good man.
