Weibel.

As the shades of evening hovered round another dying day, they darkened about our home and as the twilight fell, they beckoned our brother John Weibel away. He was born in Westmoreland county, Penn., December 21st, 1815, and departed this life February 28th 1897, aged 81 years. 3 months and 7 days. In 1863 he with his parents removed to Greenville, Stark county, Ohio, and in 1853, he came to Monclova township, where he has since resided. He was married to Rebecca Rhodes, December 21st, 1837, who preceded him to the better world 3 years ago to-day. The subject has been identified with, and has been an active worker in the church ever since he was 19 years of age and was a highly honored member of the United Brethren Church. Two children had been adopted by him in earlier days, who were cared for as his own. His neighbors have lost a man of strict integrity in whom they had the greatest confidence, the soldiers have lost a staunch friend. He was good and loved us all. Through these many years he plodded on his faithful way against the storms and tides of life. He was of a kind affable nature which drew about him a large circle of friends. His home was the home of love and affection, hence it is not strange that hearts are sad and tears fall at his departure. But we bow in humble submission, believing He doeth all things well and we trust his soul has gone to join those classmates in that better land and now sings the songs of the redeemed, and is safely housed, where the storms of life cannot reach him and where infirmities of old age will no longer burden. Peace to his ashes.

Brother, we miss you In our home.
Our hearts are filled with grief.
The vacant chair, the silent room.
O what can bring relief.
But brother, in that land so fair.
Where tear are never shed.
And sorrow cannot enter there.
We'll meet and greet our dead. J. W.
