Obituary:

VANSYGAN. - On Dec. 24, 1882, in Damascus twp. Henry County, O. Ellen, wife of Frederick Vansygan, aged 28 years 2 months and, 16 days.

Alter a brief illness of but a few days. Though dearly beloved by the, companions of her youth she was willing and ready to depart. She had been an active worker in the Sabbath School and with her kind cheerful and pleasant manners won the esteem and gained the approbation of those with Whom sbe associate, gathering about her a large circle of friends In whose memories she lives though the grave has bid her from mortal view. The largest funeral gathering that has ever convened at Bethel Church witnessed the service of the hour, and looked for the last time on earth on the form of one who now sleeps sweetly in the Olive Branch Cemetery, awaiting the resurrection morn, to be again united with loved ones on the evergreen shore.

Sleep sweetly in the silent tomb
For soon the hour will come,
When we will meet in that bright home
With those before us gone.
We'll meet to part no more,
We'll sing our sorrows past.
We'll walk upon the golden shore
At home, sweet home at last.

Then Ellen, now farewell,
Though sadness fill the heart,
And deepest grief our bosoms swell
The bitter tear will start
Yet soon our sorrows part,
No longer dwell apart,
And joy unbroken fill each heart
Singing at home at last.

J.W.M.
