VAN PELTDied, December 16th, 1891 at his home in Marion township, Henry county, Ohio, Isaac VanPelt, aged 47 years, 9 months and 3 days The deceased leaves a wife, four sons and two daughters to mourn his sad departure. Funeral services were held at the U. B. Church in Freedom township, conducted by Rev. Struble. He united with the Evangelical Church December 1885, and lived in the Christian faith until death, and in his last hours gave evidence of his acceptance in Christ.

Dear Isaac, I alone to-night am weeping,
And ih our home thy loss I deeply mourn.
Although thou art in God's ever holy keeping
Yet from my side forever thou hast been borne.

I'm weary of the world in all its beauty,
How long, dear one must I walk alone?
Why must I stay here struggling with my duty,
When to the height of angels thou hast grown.

We were so happy ? you and I together.
We cared not for the world, happy we.
Alike to us seemed fair and stormy weather,
So that each other's face we could see.

Then went my idol tho' sweet one dearest
Of all the world, and now I am alone,
Of all the world to me thou were the nearest
And in thy absence I but weep and moan.

How can I give thee up, how can I bear it.
In helpless misery I wring my empty hands.
Help me to bow my head in faith and meekness,
Guide me the way to that better land.
