Rldgeville Notes. Ed. Northwest: Dr. E. C. Brubaker reports the death of a child on Adams Rldge which had been more or less under his treatment for the last eighteen months. The child was four years of age and had been suffering for about twenty months from what appeared to be an enlargement of the liver, until the body was swollen to an enormous size, batting the skill of several physicians who had been called to see it; about a week ago death ended itssuffering. Dr. Brubaker obtained the consent of the parents to a post mortem examination which revealed the fact of an enlargement of one of the kidneys instead of the liver. This organ had become so large that it filled the whole chest nearly, and when taken out, weighed exactly twelve pounds. The case is an anomalous one, to which the medical records furnish no parallel. The doctor has sent a portion of the kidney to Ann Arbor for microscopic analysis and when returns are received he will write up the case for the Medical Journal.
