Obituary: Charles Tubbs, the last pioneer of the North Ridge is dead --? he after nine weeks of illness died December 27th, 1891. He was born in Mexico, Oswego County, New York, January 21st, 1810; at the time of his death his age was 81 years, 11 months and 6 days. He gave his heart to his Saviour in his youth and joined the Presbyterian Church in his native town. He emigrated to Adams township, then Henry county, Ohio, now Defiance county, September 1836, and located his home in the Indian country where he resided on the same farm over 56 years. He was the last of the organizers of the Congregational Church at Ridgeville Corners. Henry County, Ohio. He always lived a constant and humble Christian and always loyal to the church. He passed from earth to Heaven without a struggle. |
