Resolutions of Respect. Wm. A. Choate Post No. 66 G. A. R., Napoleon. O. At the stated regular meeting June 1, 1883, the following committee report was unanimously adopted:
Died. May 7, 1883, comrade Andrew J. Tressler. former member of Co. A. 68th Regt. O. V. I. and at the time of his death a member of Choate Post. Therefore, be it
Resolved, that by his untimely death this Post has been deprived of a faithful comrade and a gallant soldier, and his associates of a kind and generous friend.
Resolved,, That while we deplore his demise we rejoice that be has left behind him so many virtues for our emulation and so few faults for our warning, and that his example was one which each member may well follow.
Resolved, That to his bereaved brothers and sisters and relatives we extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolence with hope that strength may be given them to bear this sudden though expected sorrow with patient resignation.
Resolved. That the relatives of, the de ceased be furnished with a copy of these resolutions, and that copies be furnished the Northwest and Signal for publication.
