Obituary: THOMPSON Elizabeth Thompson, wife of John Thompson, of Ridgeland, Ohio, departed this life March 31st, 1892, age 67 years, 6 months and 15 days. During the winter she had an attack of LaGrippe which left her with lung trouble that caused her death. She endured her painful and distressing affliction with Christian fortitude, and when her friends would speak to her of her sad condition he would meekly reply that her affliction would not last long. In 1848 she embraced the Christian religion and connected herself with the German Baptist Church in which she lived an earnest and faithful member until death. She leaves an affectionate husband, two sons, two daughters and many relatives and friends to mourn their loss, but our loss is her gain. Funeral services were held at the Hashberger school house, April 1st, conducted by Elder John Provont, to a large and sympathizing congregation of relatives and friends, after which her remains were taken to the Ridgeland cemetery and reverently laid away to await the resurrection morn. She bore her sickness with patience, J. A. R. |
