SPANGLER.-- At the family residence, in Defiance, Ohio, Oct. 1st, died suddenly of paralysis, Isabel, wife of John Spangler, and eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tuttle, of Defiance. She was born in Defiance in September 1847, and at the time of her death was aged 38 years. She was married to John Spangler July 23rd, 1869, and was the mother of three sons and four daughters, the youngest less than two years old. She was a member of the Baptist church for 20 years. Suddenly was she called from labor to rest, her illness being only about 4 1/2 hours duration. She had attended the fair at Defiance on Thursday, being in her usual health, and on Friday had been engaged in her accustomed household duties until the time we she was mortally stricken, near 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Her expectation was to attend the fair again on Saturday. She has born the burden of the heat of the day and as the night comes on she has entered into rest, has passed from darkness into light. During the earlier years of her married life her home was in Florida, we're by her pleasing and agreeable manners she made many warm friends. In an unexpected hour the unseen messenger came, but years ago her preparation for the meeting of this hour had been made and she was found at her post, mindful of the duties and cares that fell to her lot. She rests from her labors and her works do follow her. The happy home is made desolate, a husband mourns the loss of a loving wife and sharing companion, the children of a devoted mother. A father, mother, two brothers, and two sisters mourning the taking away of a loving eldest daughter and sister. A large concourse of relatives and friends assembled on Sunday to pay the last tribute of respect to her whose earthly race was so quietly run. Funeral services at the M. E. Church at Independence, by Rev. Phillips, pastor of the Baptist Church at defiance.
