Obituary:
Mrs. Elizabeth Smith died at her home in Napoleon last Thursday morning after a lingering illness. The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church Sunday, Rev. Balmer officiating, and the remains interred in the grave yard near Shunk. Mrs. Smith, whose maiden name was Dissinger, was one of the oldest pioneers of this county, having moved here in 1858 from Akron, Ohio, shortly after her marriage with Jacob Smith. She has ever since remained a resident of the county. Her husband died some fifteen years ago. She was a member of the M. E. Church of this place and a most earnest and devout christian, being of that disposition that is rarely distinguished between persons when kindness was to be meted out. She was 66 years, 7 months and 7 days old at the time of her death, and leaves one son. Harvey Smith, and one daughter, Mrs. James Ketter. |
