SLOANE. In Harrison township, Henry county, Ohio, April 20th, 1885, of typhoid pneumonia, F. M. Sloane, aged 22 years, 2 months and 3 days. He was a young man highly respected by those with whom he was acquainted. Kind and courteous to all, he drew around him a large circle of ardent friends, who, with sad hearts, followed his remains to the field of the silent dead, and, while tears were falling thick and fast, he was lowered into the grave.

Farewell, Francis, thou hast left us
In this vale, so lone and drear;
And, although we're filled with sadness
Made to shed the bitter tear--
Yet amid this night of sorrow,
Rays of hope our spirits cheer;
Soon will come the bright tomorrow--
We'll no longer linger here.
