Mrs. Mary A. Slater died at her home on Providence street on Wednesday morning, Oct. 6th, 1892, aged 70 years, 9 months and 10 days. Mrs. Slater has been a resident of Henry county, near Colton, for nearly forty years, and has lived in Delta about one year. She was the mother of Mrs. E. Griffin of this place, and of J. M. Slater of Colton. Mrs. W. L. Smith of Delta; Mary and Mrs. Ed. Meyor, of Swancreek, five in all, and all were present with her when she died. After a long illness she passed away in the full hope of a future happiness. Mrs. Slater was well known and beloved by all her neighbors and acquaintances. Her funeral will take place to-day from the M. E. church at Colton, conducted by Rev. W, W. Tait, of Delta. Delta Atlas, Oct. 7.
