Obituary: Dead. Letters received here last week announce the death of James Shoup, who recently returned from here to Colorado. The letters state that he left a mining camp on a prospecting tour and was "subsequently found dead by his comrades. The position of the body was natural, and the face indicated that his death was painless, but his tongue protruded and part of it was cut off. The ground in the vicinity gave no indications of a struggle, and those who discovered the body therefore concluded that he had died in a fit. The letters also state that the funeral was attended by all the miners in that vicinity. Bryan Democrat |
