Obituary:

Wm. A. Choate Post No. 66,
Dep't of Ohio, G. A. R.
Napoleon. O.. April 3, 1885.

The following Preamble and Resolutions were unanimously adopted by this post:

Died, March 20, 1885, comrade Isaac Shook, late of Co. "C" 88 O. V. I. from May 3, to Sept. 20, 1862, and by reenlistment a member of Co. B. 100 O. V. I. from Dec. 25, 1862, to July 17, 1865, having served his country in arms three years, lacking a few days. Thus one by one as the years roll on are our brave and loved comrades laid to rest, and "their souls marching in the long columns, to the realms above as grim death, hour by hour, marks its victim." Comrade Shook has answered to the last roll call on earth. His camp fire hasgone out; but ere this he has answered to the glad roll call of the grand commander-in-chief above, and a new camp fire has been lighted for him which shall burn through eternal ages.

Comrade Shook has so lived that it was said above his grave, "here lies the body of a true hearted, brave and earnest defender of this Republic."

Resolved, That by his early death this Post has lost a gallant soldier, a faithful comrade and a loyal friend.
Resolved, That to the bereaved wife, children and friends of our deceasedcomrade, such deep sympathy as only soldiers can give to the "families of those whose ties with us were welded in the fire of battle.
Resolved, That our Post Rooms be draped In mourning for thirtv days.
Resolved, That these Resolutions of Respect be published in each of our county papers, and recorded in the Adjutants Journal, and that a copy befurnished the widow of our late comrade.
