It is with deep sorrow that we chronicle the death of Mr. Jonas Shoemaker, Jr., this week. He died at his residence on the South Side on Monday evening, Feb. 25, 1884, in the 48th year of his age. His death was the result of a severe attack of catarrh fever, be being sick only five days. He leaves a family consisting of wife and six children, the eldest daughter returning from a visit in Hancock county only ten minutes before her father's death, who was unable to recognize her. The funeral will take place from his late residence this morning at 10 o'clock. Services will be held at the Shunk Church, in Harrison tp., by Rev. J. Myers, and the body will be buried in the cemetery at that place. The stricken family have the sympathy of all.
