Obituary: In Memorium. Died. Margaret Catharine Sauer, infant daughter of William and Sophia E. Sauer, aged eight months and four days. The insatiable archer has again drawn his bow, and another has been cut down in life's earliest spring time. Less than one week of intense suffering, served to pale the cheek and quench the brightness of her eye in death. As we stood by her little coffin and gazed upon her cold, pale race, and remembered that out a few days ago she was with us joyous and happy, the tears flowed copiously from their pent up fountain. Oh! How hard it was to give it up to say farewell, and know that we must see it on earth no more for ever. But, dearest babe, we know that thou hast over-leaped death's dark rubicon that the confines of the tomb have been passed, and thou art forever free from the cares and responsibilities, the pains and sorrows incident to a more matured life. With an eye of pity, we beheld the hectic taking the bloom from the roseate Cheek and haughtily planting there its own false and fading hue, but our Heavenly Father has seen fit in his infinite wisdom to remove her from our embrace and we, do know that she now tunes her infant voice to the music of angelic choirs above. Let us, dear friends, become like her in childish meekness that we too, with her, may inherit the glories of Heaven, for except we become as little children we cannot enter unto the kingdom of God. New Bavaria, O. |
