Theodore Sandman.

Theodore "Ted" Sandman, 93, Deshler, died Saturday afternoon in Oak Grove Quality Care.

Born in Deshler on May 14, 1895, he was the son of Fred and Wilhelmina (Schwiebert) Sandman.

A retired farmer and carpenter, Sandman was a World War I Army veteran who served with the A. E. F. during the August 22, 1918, Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler, and in later years had attended Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Deshler American Legion Post #316.

Surviving are a sister, Pauline Leady of Bowling Green, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler, Rev. Paul Lehenbauer officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler, where military graveside rites will be accorded by the Deshler American Legion Post #316.

Friends may call at the Bloor Funeral Home, Deshler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Building fund, the Deshler EMS or a charity of the donor's choice.
