Obituary

In Freedom township, Henry county, Ohio, Sept. 1st, 1893, Caroline Harmon, wife of Jacob W. Harmon. She had been a sufferer of heart disease for about a year, but for the last four weeks previous to her death she appeared to be gradually improving in heaith. She attended to her household duties the day previous to her death; she retired late in the evening feeling about as well as usual; several hours afterward she became very ill, and walked into the front room and sat down by the door on a chair, when the husband and son noticed that she was slowly sinking away, supposing that she was only fainting they ran to her assistance, but, alas, it was but a moment until, without a moan or a struggle, she lay dead in her son's arms. All was done that human aid could do to restore life back again but it was in vain, the spirit had fled to a home in heaven.

Her maiden name was Caroline Russell, and she was born in Coshocton county, Obio, on April 4th, 1840; she came with her mother and stepfather, Joseph Taylor, to Henry county in the fall of 1854. She was united in marriage to Jacob W. Harmon on Aug. 14h, 1859. Her age at the time of death was 63 years, 4 months and 27 days. She was the mother of 3 children, two sons and one daughter; the infant daughter preceded her 24 years at the age of 7 months. The deceased leaves a kind and affectionate husband, two sons and one grandchild, two sisters and one brother, and many friends to mourn her loss. But may their loss be her eternal gain. She was a kind and affectionate companion and mother and was beloved by all who knew her. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all. The family home has been wrecked and broken, but may be rebuilt in heaven: the lord sustain the husband and the dear afflicted son who has been stricken by disease for about 9 years, and who is thus deprived of a mother's care.

The funeral services were held at the house on Monday at 10 o'olook a. m., Rey. Miller officiating, after which the remains were laid to reat in the Kline cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
