DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN -- It is with sorrow that we announce the death, on Monday, after an illness of three days, of JOHN PORTER ROWAN, one of the oldest and best known citizens of the county. He was social and genial, had many friends, and, we believe, no enemies. His unlooked for death has caused general regret in the community.
