Obituary:

DIED - At his residence in West Unity, on the 18th inst., JOHN RINGS, aged about fifty years.
The deceased was one of the earliest settlers of Williams County. He contributed largely to the improvements of the county and the prosperous village of West Unity, where he resided ever since his removal to the county. He was beloved by all who knew him and probably had fewer enemies than any other person in Williams county. During his residence here, he filled the office of Justice of the Peace, County Commissioner, and at the time of his decease was serving the second term of the office of County Treasurer. In public as in private life, his character was without spot, and blameless. He was long and at the time of his death a member of the church United Brethren in Christ, and his life corresponded strictly with his profession which he made as a christian. It is said he bore his sufferings with meekness and patience, and departed this life with the full assurance that he was about to enter the new and happier home of the good. His afflicted relations will have the sympathies of all acquainted with him and them.
We should be glad to publish a more extended notice of the deceased should any be furnished. The whole community will mourn the death of John Rings. Bryan News
