Obituary:

RICHARDSON Edw. Richardson, of Carrol county, Ohio. The deceased is the father of Margaret Rennecker; he was born November 22, 1805, and died December 26, 1892, aged 87 years, 1 month and 4 days. He was of a family of eleven children, three sons and eight daughters, all of whom preceded him to that better land. His parents came from Maryland and settled in Orange township, Carrol county. He was the first white child born in Orange township, the Indians inhabitating that vicinity at that time. He was united in marriage to Catharine Wyand in the year 1825. They lived in the bonds of matrimony sixty-seven years. He was the father of eight children; one son has already preceded him over the riverHe was killed in the wilderness of the late war, while the mother, three sons and four daughters are left to mourn the loss of a kind father. Mr. and Mrs. Richardson lived together Sixty-seven years and never before was there a casket taken from their homeTheir descendants were thirty five grand children, forty great grand children and three great-great grand children.

The day we laid him in the tomb,
The natural sun was shining bright,
But oh, our hearts were filled with gloom
To think that he was out of sight.

Alas, how sad to say farewell.
It’s hard to part with father dear.
Though he has gone with Christ to dwell,
Be happy there without a tear.
