At her home in Liberty township, Henry Co., O., Emma Jane, wife of Franklin Rhoads Emma Jane Fouty was born in York township, Fulton Co., Ohio, January 9th, 1870; was married to Franklin Rhoads, in Wauseon, O., Sept. 16th, 1887; died of typhoid fever April 10th, 1888, aged 18 years, 3 months and 1 day.

In the home of fadeless beauty,
Dear Emma is now a shining star,
Dwelling in the holy city,
With the gates of gold ajar;
There with the pure and spotless
She has joined the angle's band,
And her loved one there will know her
In that sweet and holy land.

Now her waxen hands are folded.
O'er her calm and peaceful breast,
And in all her youth and beauty
She has joined the land of rest,
Leaving friends, who weep in sorrow,
O'er the loss they will sustain,
But we know that she is happy,
And their loss will be her gain.
