Obituary: OBITUARY. Rehm. Catharine Rehm was born in Germany, in the town called Tulringer, on July 5th, 1819, died Aug. 29th, 1886, aged 67 years, 1 month and 21 days. Mother Rehm came to America about the year 1857, six years after her husband came to this country, and has been a resident of our village for about 27 years. She married Henry Rehm in the year 1843; and unto them were born five children, two boys and three girls; three have already crossed over on the other side while two are still living with six grand children to mourn the loss of a loved mother. The husband preceded her about l year and 8 months. Mother Rehm was a good neighbor, very kind and affectionate to all, always had a welcome for her children when they came home to visit her. She was a member of the Lutheran Church about all her lifetime, always at church when her health permitted her to be there. But now life's journey is ended calmly and quietly, the sun of her life went down and with her the battle of life is over. Her funeral took place at the Lutheran Church in Florida, the pastor in charge officiating, after which her remains were followed by a large concourse of people to the Florida cemetery, and there laid beside her husband to await the resurrection morning, while her soul has gone to join those that are gone on before to be again united in the sweet by and by. And now they sleep so sweetly there, Joseph Weible. |
