Obituary: Death of Mrs. Geo. Reeder. The following notice of the death of Mrs. Geo. H. Reeder is taken from the Grand Rapids (Mich.) Telegram-Herald, Mrs, Reeder was formerly a resident of this city, where she has many friends who will regret to hear of her death: Died, on Wednesday, October 29, at her former home in this city, Mrs. Nettie Reeder, aged 37 years, 11 months and 23 days. Deceased was the wife of George H. Reeder, of this city. She was born at Bucyrus, Ohio, in November, 1852. She became the wife of Mr. Reeder October 4, 1870, and with him removed to Napoleon, O., where she lived several years. From Napoleon Mr. and Mrs. Reeder came to this city, where they have resided ever since. The life of the deceased was marked by unusual kindness and gentleness of disposition. Although she was essentially of a domestic habit of mind, the sweetness of her character endeared her to a large circle of friends. Her death was looked upon as a private grief in many families of the immediate neighborhood of her home, and the tokens of affection received during her long and distressing illness were many and touching. The little children of the neighborhood gave substantial expression of their grief in presenting many bouquets and floral emblems. The illness of the deceased carried with it physical sufferings of uncommon poignancy, but courage and sweet fortitude of endurance marked the course of a disease of nearly four years' continuance. She was laid to rest in Valley City cemetery on Friday, October 31st. |
