REED. In Elery, on the 7th of August, 1887, Nellie, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Reed, aged 1 year, 6 months and 24 days.

Why should our tears in sorrow flow
when God recalled our Nellie home?
He bid her leave this world of woe to an immortal home.
Is not even death again to those whose life to God was given;
Gladly to earth she closed her eyes to open them in heaven
Her toils are past, her work is done, and she is fully blest.
She fought her fight, the victory won and entered into rest.
Then let our sorrow cease to flow, for God has called her home,
But let our heart in every woe still watch till be shall bid us come;
Though the nights be long and dreary, dankness will not be with us long,
May the morn In Heaven wake us to meet our darling one.
So when the signal's given us to be called from earth away,
Bourne on angel's wings to heaven we shall meet our darling babe.
Though our tears fall on her grave, though the winds will moan and rave,
Though they shall not disturb her sleep while the angels over her keep.
God's sweet morn shall wake at last, when the night of pain is past,
Then from out the grave's dull gloom she shall wake in beautious bloom.
