Obituary:

To the memory of brother George Punches, passed by members of Hamler Lodge, No. 78, I. O. G. T., Feb, 1887.

Whereas, It has pleased Almighty God, the Creator of the Universe, to remove from our midst our Friend and Brother, George Punches, therefore be it

Resolved: That it is but a just tribute to his memory to say, that in regretting his removal from our midst, we mourn for one whose name appears upon our Charter as one of the founders of our society; and who was in every way worthy our respect. That remembering his desire to receive our Sacred Obligation we will esteem it more highly, and endeavor to keep it more sacredly both in Letter and Spirit.

Resolved: That we sincerely sympathize with the Father and Mother in this Dispensation with which it his pleased Divine Providence to afflict them; and we commend to Him alone who can soothe and heal the wounds of sorrow and affliction.

Resolved: That a copy of this preamble, and of these resolutions, be spread on the Record of the Lodge; and that a copy be sent to the afflicted parents and one to the Central Good Templar and each of the County papers for publication.
