Obituary: After several weeks of intense suffering and pain Miss Alice M. Pugh passed away from earth on Monday, February 24, 1890. Her death occurred at her home in this place whither she was brought from Toledo some four weeks ago, and her last days were passed among friends near and dear to her. The deceased was one of Ottawa's most estimable and popular young ladies and was highly esteemed and beloved by all who knew her. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Day Pugh and was born in Kenton, Ohio, April 20, 1862, and came with her parents to Ottawa in the year 1862. She was for many years a teacher in the publio schools for three years at Sidney and for the past ten years in the public schools at Toledo. While pursuing her school work at Toledo she was taken sick on the 6th of January, and not getting better she was brought to her home in Ottawa on the first of February and remained here until her death. Her funeral took place from the family residence yesterday afternoon, Rev. E. A. Lowe officiating, and her remains were laid to rest in the Pomeroy cemetery. Ottawa Sentinel. Miss Pugh is a sister of Mrs. M. Knupp of this city, and had many friends here who regret to learn of her death. |
