Death ofJohn Powell. After an illness of some weeks duration Mr. John Powell died at his residence on the Bryan Pike on Saturday last. Mr. Powell was one of our oldest pioneers, having settled here in the early history of the county. At that time he was engaged in the mercantile business, but for many years he has been living on his farm north of Napoleon. He died at the ripe old age of 79 years, 7 months and 10 days. His funeral took place from his residence on Monday, his remains being followed to the grave by a large concourse of friends and relatives.
