Death in any form, in any clime, is a grievous event, but when one in youth, with bright prospects, is cut down it becomes doubly so.

John Petticofer of Monroe township was a young man of good habits, was recéntly married and up to the time of his death which occured Saturday, the 5th, was the happy father of two bright children. These children by the sad death of their father are orphans, the mother having died a year since.

The deceased was a victim of consumption, hence his death was not unexpected.

Funeral services were held from the German Reform ehurch on the Kalida Pike Monday, Rev. G. W. Long officiating.
