Obituary: Woodbury, son of uncle John Newcomer, was killed in a well in Kansas few days ago. It seems that he went into a well 60 feet deep and owing to the bad air desired to be taken out, and a man went down and put a rope around Newcomer, who was drawn to the top when he slipped through the rope and fell to the bottom and was taken out dead. The man in the well was also so badly injured that he is not expected to recover. It is stated that the deceased was subject to fainting fits and it is probable that he was seized with a fit while in the well. His father and brother George, left for Kansas on receipt of a dispatch and arrived here with the body last night. Wauseon Republican. |
