Obituary: MILLER. John Miller died at his home three miles east of Napoleon on Oct. 15th, 1890. He was born in Henry county October 3d, 1868, and died at his birth place at the age of 22 years and 12 days; the fell destroyer was typhoid fever. The same disease had taken the mother away only four weeks before the son. The father, one daughter and one son are left to mourn the loss of their son and brother. John was a young man who could be trusted by his father and friends, and respected by all. He had not been enjoying good health for some time before that fever lay its fatal hold upon him. He retained his natural cheerfulness remarkably during his early affliction, and expressed his willingness to die several days before death came to relieve him from his suffering. He will be missed much by his family and associates. Thus have gone a mother and son but twenty days apart. The funeral services were held at the Shunk Evangelical Church on Friday, October 17th. There we laid him in the church yard by his mother's side. Mr. Miller and family tender their thanks to the neighbors and friends for their kind assistance during their affliction and bereavements. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E. D. Pailin. |
