Obituary: It is with no little regret that we announce the death of Mr. John B. Meyers on the 19th ult, he having succumbed to the inevitable after an illness of two months from bronchial trouble. The funeral ceremony was held at Shunk Tuesday following, Rev. J. B. Long in charge, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery. The deceased was the father of seven sons and two daughters, six sons and one daughter of whom survive him. Of these our representative J. F. Meyers and Deputy Auditor John I. Meyers are sons. He was born in the eastern part of Pennsylvania and with his parents moved to Ohio when still a small boy. In 1867 he came to Henry county and settled in Monroe township where he has since resided. As a citizen Mr. Meyers was one who always had the welfare of his community at heart and he was correspondingly respected by all who knew him. At the time of his death he was 63 years, 5 months and 10 days old. To the bereaved family the sympathy of hosts of friends is extended. We understand his wife is also very ill. We hope for her recovery. |
