Jas. W. McPherson, son of Mrs. L. H. Diehl of this city, died at the home of Wm. Witzgall in Monroe township, on Feb. 21st, aged 19 years. Rheumatism of the heart was the cause of death. Mr. McPherson had been a member of the family of Mr. Witzgall for nearly nine years, and was beloved by all who knew him. Some two months ago he had a severe attack of rheumatism but was on the road to recovery when he had a relapse, from the effects of which he never recovered. He leaves a mother, one brother and two sisters to mourn their loss.

Tears may fall as we remember
That loved form so cold and dead,
But no more you'll join our number,
For from grief and sorrow fled.

Weep not, parents, in the morning
When the toils of life are o'er,
We'll meet our dariing brother,
Safe upon the other shore.
