Grant Lowery, a young man residing on the north side in Randall's addition, died early Sunday morning from consumption. He contracted a severe cold last December which affected his already weak lungs to such an extent that quick consumption soon developed. He gradually grew worse under the ravages of the fearful malady and despite his youth and an otherwise healthful body, he succumbed. He was 24 years, 5 months and 25 days of age. The funeral ceremony was held at the house, Monday afternoon, Rev. Donahey in charge, and the remains interred in the Gunn cemetery west of Napoleon.
