Obituary: Died of Lock Jaw. The sudden and unexpected death of C. Krenkle, which was reported in Saturday's Evening Express was one of the saddest bereavements that has visited our city in some time. Mr. Krenkel had gone to Brooklyn about five weeks ago on a visit to his sister's. One week ago last Friday, while engaged in assisting his sister to move her household goods, he fell from the wagon and broke his left wrist. The day after the fractured limb had been set, the physicians found it necessary to reset it, and so intense was the pain of this operation that it produced lock-jaw from the effects of which he died on the 25th. Mr. Krenkle was 59 years, 3 months and 6 days old. He had lived here in Defiance 22 years, and by all who knew him was held in the very highest esteem. His sudden and unexpected death brought the deepest of grief to his wife and two daughters, and cast a feeling of gloom over the hearts of all his numerous friends. The funeral services took place at the M. E. Church Sunday, when a large concourse of citizens followed the remains to their last resting place. Defiance Express. |
