Obituary: KINNEY On the 3d of October, 1890, in McClure, Henry county, Ohio, of lung fever, Joseph Kinney, aged 63 years, 8 months and 18 days. The deceased was a resident of Harrison township some 33 years; the last three years of his life he lived in McClure, O. In 1853 he was married to Edith M. Laney who is left to mourn the loss of a kind husband; a large family of children weep because the strong arm of parent and father is taken from them. He was an extreme sufferer the few weeks of his illness. He had found a friend in Jesus, and when he neared the river of death that friend did not forsake him, but with anxiety he waited until the boatman came. He loved to listen in his last hours to songs of the beautiful home and at times he would engage in singing with cheerful countenance in moments of rest from pain. He remained conscious until a few hours of his death, then passed quietly away. His body was taken to Shunk on Sabbath the 6th of October, where funeral services were held by Rev. J . W. Myers to an unusually large congregation. |
