Obituary: JENNINGS. Mary J. Jennings, nee Davidson, was born in Piqua, Ohio, September 7th, 1837; was married to M. Jennings Nov. 16th, 1848 and died April 26th, 1892, aged 64 years, 7 months and 19 days. There was born unto them 11 children; four of this number preceded her to the spirit land. Sister Jennings gave her heart to God about 40 years ago and remained faithful until death. She was a member of the United Brethren Church Olive Branch, where she no doubt has witnessed the conversion of some of her family and has witnessed for God, Right and Rightousness. Her last words, Blessed Jesus, testified that he whom she served for many years was her comfort still and went with her through the valley and the shadow of death. For forty years she labored hard with her companion and children to make an honest living and receive to themselves a home, which end they have earned. Industry is the chief of time. May many others imitate her in life's work. Funeral services were held in the U. B. Church at 8 o'clock the writer discoursed from Heb. 11:16 May the Lord bless the broken hearts, sad home and many relatives. |
