Obituary:

Died -- Suddenly in this City, on the 14th inst., SALENA JACKSON, (widow) aged 75 years. She was a native of Colrain, Ireland, but came to this country nearly forty years ago, and has lived in this place since 1833. Seldom has death come upon one who, in every sense of the word, might be said to be waiting and looking for it, as was Mrs. JACKSON. She was naturally possessed of a strong and clear mind, and the Bible and Religion had been her chief study. She believed its premises, and kept its precepts, and was active in trying to induce others to do so. The first Methodist Class meeting ever held in this place was at her house, and always when an effort was made to bring people under the influence of the truth and do good, she was present. She was in good health up to the hour of her death, and retired to bed praying that when the Lord should call for her, He would grant her a quick and easy passage to her home, and she fell into her long sleep, leaving no evidence of having suffered in the death struggle. Maumee River Times
The deceased was the mother of W. J. Jackson, Esq., of this place.
