Word was received here Tuesday evening that Col. Hissong was nearing death's door, that he could not survive longer than twenty- four hours and that his sufferings were ter- rible at times. Cancer of the stomach is the cause of his sufferings. Col. Hissong was formerly a resident of this city, where he has many warm friends who are pained to learn of his fatal illness.
