Obituary:

Hill. On Feb. 14, 1882, Lydia, wife of Rev. Michael Hill (deceased), was born Aug. 1st, 1811, in the State of New York, died in Henry county, Ohio, at the above date, aged 70 years, 6 months and 10 days. The funeral services were held at the Shunk Church, conducted by Rev. D. W. Downey, from the 149 Psalm and 4th verse. She was married the first time to Mr. Martin Gunter, Jan. 16, 1833, to them were born six children, two sons and four daughters. Mr. Gunter was drowned in the Auglaize river April 4, 1844. She married again onthe 7th day of September, 1852, this time to Mr. Hill, and to them were born two daughters, one of them preceded the mother to that place prepared for all that love God. Rev. M. Hill, the husband of the deceased died April 21, 1877. He was one of the oldest settlers in this part of the county known as Malinta Station. Sister Hill experienced the pardon of her sins in the fourteenth year of her age and united with the M. E. Church in which she lived and remained a consistent member until noar the time of her second marriage. She then united with the Disciple Church, as her husband was a minister in said church. Mother Hill was a constant reader of the Bible and a close adherent to the truth therein taught. The writer visited grandmother Hill quite frequently during her last illness and at her own request I administered the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper to her and quite a number of her associates in church fellowship. She passed away without a struggle and her spirit now rests sweetly in the paradise of God. She leaves three daughters, one son, nine grand children and a host of friends, to mourn their loss but her gain. Peace to her ashes. Rev. D. W. D.
