Mr. Lorenzo Higby, one of the old residents of this township, died last Friday after a lingering illness, with lung disease. His funeral took place at the family residence on the Sabbath, conducted by Rev. B. W. Single, of Defiance. Mr. Higby was for many years a leading actor in all the public affairs of this community, and was a man of more than average intelligence, and of sound Christian morality. A son, two daughters and an aged wife are left to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband and father. One by one the old human landmarks are disappearing, but their work will remain green in the memoriesof the new generation.
