From the 14th Regiment:

Capt. Pomroy, of Co. D, 14th Regiment, reached at home at this place on Friday morning of this week. Captain P. was in the great battle near Chickamauga, fought on Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th, and was severely wounded in the lung the first day's fight. The 14th suffered terribly, listing about 200 in killed and wounded. Co. D Capt. Pomroy lost some 8 killed, wounded and missing out of 60 men went into the fight. Capt. P. furnishes us the following incomplete list of killed and wounded of Co. D. He was unable to ascertain the the character of the injuries of the wounded.

KILLED. James Wells, L. B. Clements, John Miller, David March, probably, Geo. Hartman, probably.

WOUNDED. Henry Anglemyer, Henry Andrix, Geo. Brubaker, S. R. Bottomfield, Wm. Casteel, Wm. _____, S. _____, Wm. Moss [Morris?], Bass Myrice, S. Overmyer, C. P. Russell, F. _____, A. F. Thatcher, _____ Westead [?], L. Cramer, George Cyfang, S. H. Bates, Thomas Patton, Allen Rich, Frederick Speigle.

MISSING. John Bowker, Geo. Brubaker

Of these, Cyfang, Cramer, Battenfield and Moss are reported mortally wounded. [sic]
