A SAD CASE.

William Hartman Suicides by Hanging.

William Hartman, a former resident of this place, committed suicide in Toledo on Wednesday of last week. His body was brought here Friday for burial. The following particulars of his death are taken from the Toledo Commercial:

Yesterday morning the family of William Hartman, on Western avenue, were horrified at discovering his lifeless body hanging from the rafters of a shed near the house. About midnight on Tuesday he told his wife that he was too warm to sleep and that he would get up and go out of the house for a while. Nothing was thought or the matter at the time and he was not seen again until his body was found in the morning.

He had lived on Western avenue for nearly fifteen years and was always considered an energetic and respected citizen of that community. For some time past, however, he has been unable to work on account of illness, and it is thought that from this fact he was led to commit the act. His remains will be taken to Genoa for burial Friday. The deceased was for twenty-eight years an engineer on the Wabash road and was highly respected by all who knew liim. He leaves a wife, three daughters and four sons.
