Testimonial of Respect

Adopted by Choate Post 66, G. A. R., Napoleon, Ohio, Sept 17, 1886.

Died, Sept. 12th, 1886, comrade Nathaniel H. Hartman, late Corp'l. Co. G, 163d Ohio. He was mastered into this Post June 25, 1886, and mustered out Sept 12, by reason of in the Grand Army above and under the banner of our Sovereign, Lord and Master, the Grand Commander of the universe.

Thus "one by one as the years roll on" are our comrades gathered home by our Heavenly Father and commander, where the camp-fires never die out but grow brighter and brighter as the circle round it grows larger and larger where Reveille is sounded but no taps.

Comrade Hartman was an honored citizen, a kind husband and father, a consistent brother Mason, and a man of many virtues. "The toils and duties of his soldier life are over," but their memories will ever live green in the hearts of his comrades and all those who knew and loved him.

Resolved, That while we grieve over the loss of our comrade, we will emulate his virtues that our last days may be like his, fall of that "peace that passeth all understanding."

Resolved, That we tender the bereaved family our tender sympathy in this their hour bereavement.

Resolved, That our Post be draped in mourning for 30 days, and that a copy of this testimonial be sent to the family of our late comrade and be published in the Napoleon papers.

F. M. Rummel, Capt., C. E. Reynolds, Commander
