Harms. Mary Harms was born in Germany, January 23, 1848, sad died at Florida, Henry county, May 1, 1889, aged 41 years, 3 months, and 8 days. She came to America bout 20 years ago; was united in marriage with Henry Harms, April 2, 1872. To these parents was born nine children; four have already preceded the mother across the river and are already safely housed in the land of rest, while the husband and five children are still living, with the grandmother and other friends and relatives to mourn. She was a member of the Lutheran church at Florida, and was a faithful member up to her death. Thus one after another have the lights of this family gone out, the loving wife, the gentle mother is gone, how sweetly she sleeps the last sleep, have gently closed the eyes that shed the last tear, laid the hand on the boom that has heaved the last sigh and the lips will never more quiver with pain. The funeral took place at the Lutheran church at Florida, the Rev. Wm. Schust, pastor officiating; after which her body was laid away in the Florida cemetery while her soul has gone to join those that have gone before.
