Obituary: DIED--At the residence of his son, in Texas, Henry county, on the morning of the 7th of April, 1871, PETER H. HAAG, in the seventy-first year of his age. The deceased was born in Harrisburg, Pa., January 1801. He was admitted to the bar in Lancaster City in the same state. In 1851, he removed to Ohio, and practiced law in New Philadelphia for a number of years. He had taken a prominent part in politics, and was well known in the backbone counties of the State. His life was the time alloted by the Psalmist, and leaving no small children of his own, he lived to see those of his children around him. Death is the ordination of creation and for every one "There is a valley to cross, a river to ford, A shaking of hands and a parting word, And a tremulous sigh." |
